Mycorrhizal Network Tee

This shirt shows the wood wide web — the mycorrhizal symbiosis between tree roots and fungal hyphae that science has spent the last thirty years catching up to. Above the soil line: a row of trees that look independent. Below: the truth of how they live.

The term itself was coined in a 1997 Nature paper by Suzanne Simard and colleagues. The illustration here is field-guide style: clean linework, no decoration, the kind of cross-section you'd find in an old forestry manual. If you read soil biology, you already know what you're looking at.
